On the road, AGAIN!

Hello from Cheyenne, Wyoming!!

They kids were ecstatic to reach Wyoming! It was VERY exciting to cross the state line. Our 1800 mile journey is nearing an end.  It has been a wonderful trip filled with many emotions. 

Today we woke to snow on the ground and the kids had a fabulous time playing in the snow. They made some small snowmen, threw snowballs at each other and the dogs, caught snow flakes in their mouths and even threw a few snowballs at their dad (and of course he had to get them back). The snow did not stay on the ground all day, but it did continue to snow for a large portion of the day. 

We spent the day in Cheyenne today due to the snow.  Wyoming is very careful with road closures and sections of the roads were closed today. 

Besides playing in the snow, we visited a few tourist attractions today and did some shopping at a western store.  Marc convinced the kids to try on Wrangler jeans, and Blake really liked them! He is now the proud owner of his first pair of cowboy cut Wrangler jeans.  Needless to say, Kayla did not like the jeans (neither did I), but she did get a cut pair of boots.

We did take the puppies to the dog park today to run and Winston did not enjoy it much at all.  The wind picked up causing the temperature to drop and the snow to blow and my persnickety puppy wanted in the heat! It was really pitiful, but did give us a good laugh.

Along the trip we made various stops at visitors centers and tourist attractions and I have a few pictures sorted throughout this post. The first is from the Oklahoma visitors center, as you can see the tee-pee type structures over the picnic tables.  After crossing into Oklahoma we stopped at Sequoyah's Cabin ( http://www.okhistory.org/outreach/homes/sequoyahcabin.html ry.org/outreach/homes/sequoyahcabin.html ).  It was not far from the Trail of Tears, and the actual cabin is in the picture on the right.  It was really neat and I think the kids enjoyed it as well as the break from the car ride.

We then stopped in Tulsa for a tour of the Aquarium. It was a nice facility located along a riverfront, but it was not as large as New Orleans or Gatlinburg by far!  Still it was a nice break from driving and interesting to see the exhibits on The Gulf.

We are not quite to Kemmerer yet, but many people have commented on our southern draw.  Hopefully we will make it to Kemmerer tomorrow, weather permitting! Love to you all!

Its currently 32 degrees with a windchill of 20, just in case you wanted to know :) We have been watching the weather channel about the severe weather and Kayla was commenting about how neat it was to say "I was there yesterday" or "I've been there"
